Description:
This two-hour live online class explores 20 questions commonly encountered by reference librarians working with kids. Students will learn about free online reference resources that will help kids answer questions like “where can I find some ideas for science projects?” or “can you help me with my fractions homework?” Students will then have the opportunity to explore reference resources further in an after-class exercise.
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of this class students will be able to:
- Guide kids in the use of quality reference resources designed just for them
- Understand the kinds of questions kids are likely to ask
- Utilize more than 20 new and different resources when working with kids

Intended Audience:
Librarians or library staff learning to work with children, or experienced children’s reference staff seeking a refresher course on reference resources will benefit from this class.

This course is designed for individual participation; each individual must register.
